Reliable, Easy to set-up, Good Contrast Display for Acurite “3-in-1” Outdoor Wind/Temperature/Humidity Sensors!
Have used four of this specific model, three-in-one Acurite displays inultople brick and mortar classrooms, over the last six years. They all still work with just one main wireless rooftop sensor, and have had zero operating issues. The only shortfall is keeping four alkaline batteries loaded in the rear compartment of each display to act as a settings/memory backup if building power is interrupted...or If a wall transformer gets unplugged for another device (or vacuum cleaner!!) then you have to re enter clock settings and stored data is lost.. With this model you can even manually calibrate each reading if desired, or simply leave it in automatic learning mode. Another great feature is being able to select one of three different light illumination levels… And even auto dimming if ... Could be better
First problem was the bracket for wind speed unit. I thought I could mount in up to the side of my wooden garage. However when I flush mounted the bracket, wind speed unit wouldn't fit due to the diameter of the wind speed unit. Needs to be redesigned. If indoor unit is mounted at eye level then the numbers are difficult to read, better when viewing at a downward angle. nice unit only numbers should be LARGER hard to read when 8-10 feet away, our old unit had numbers twice the size, and could read from across the room. should have shopped more for a larger one. now we will see how long it lasts

No Manual Instruction?
Everything is great about this Weather Station and fairly accurate... except that it comes with no instruction manual book, or at least mine didnt. Although, it is fairly easy to figure out on how to operate it, but you wont know exactly what the impact and meanings of those numbers without any explanations. For me, I bought this just for 1 purpose: to know wind speeds in my area up to the minutes, so to justify if i should go out to fly my RC helicopters and Airplanes or not. I have 3 weather stations but the AcuRite color is by far the easiest to understand "at a glance" what's going on but I would suggest that you get the one that measures rain fall also. Mine does not but I enjoy it anyway...
