Good license plate holder, but it could use a border to hold the plate tight against it.
The dealership mounted the license plate directly to the front bumper. The plate scratches the bumper over time since they put a plastic advertising cover over the plate and the backside of it pushes against the bumper. I removed both of those advertising brackets from the rear plate and front. Still after a couple of years, there were micro scratches on the rear door and front bumper. The license plate bracket mounts to the fender with two rubber bumpers on the back beneath the screw holes that hold it on the bumper. This will keep the bracket from scratching the bumper. But the dealer used two oversized screws to hold the license plate, so the screws that came with this bracket wouldn't hold tight. I had to go to a local hardware store and search for other license plate screws ... The dealership mounted the license plate directly to the front bumper. If this bracket came with a generic cover to go around the edge and over the face of the plate, then I could discard the dealership advertising covers.

Well constructed but overpriced and not the best design for Subaru front end
Well constructed. Overpriced. One could just as easily affix the license plate directly to the front end using a plug and a bushing as a cushion. What is unfortunate is that the plate mounts to a rather thin plastic molding on the Subaru so that the plug does not get an in-depth grip. It would be better to have a wing-like plug to secure the plate.

Excellent product. Sturdily built with quality material. All hardware is provided. Easy to install. Just have to drill a couple of small holes on the already pre-marked bumper and mount bracket, then plate. Piece of cake! It took less than 5 minutes.

Nice OEM front plate bracket but...
OEM Subaru front plate bracket. Solid construction and seems simple to install. Only thing is that it doesn’t fit into the pre-drilled holes on my STi. Whole idea was not to have to drill new holes. Other than that, it’s solid and a quality product. As long as you don’t mind drilling new holes into your bumper I’d recommend it.
