This is a great entry point comic for any new fan and it makes a great reader copy for the older fans to help maintain the pristine condition of their original single issues that have become quite valuable in the 30 or so years since their original release. I would also suggest buying the next volume (#7) as it contains the X-Men's revenge, (led for the first and only time by none other than Wolverine himself at his most feral!) against their deadliest foes ever, introduced in this volume, the Marauders and Their evil master Mist Sinister!!! If there is any downside to owning this collected volume, it is that the pages are reprinted in black and white. But trust me, a loyal fan of the x-men and owner of nearly all of their issues since nearly the beginning of time it seems, you will hardly notice the lack of color after the first few pages. The inked black and white pages are still breathtakingly beautiful as reprinted here.
