This is the second book I've read by D.J. Conway and I have the same issue with both of them. Drancing with Dragons has a lot of information about dragons and their existence in the modern world. That part of the book is very interesting. She goes on to explain why dragons would be helpful in magic, but she never explains how to actually get in contact with a dragon. Now, I'm relatively new to the study of magic so I might be missing something, but I was really hoping the book would explain how to actually contact a dragon since there is so much information about what they are like and why they can be helpful. So, to sum up, there is some really good information in the book, but it doesn't seem to have any practical application unless perhaps you are a more experienced practitioner.
Growing up on stories on mythology, fairy tales and classic stories, one always has some childhood dreams of characters and lands told of. In this book it aides in both the mystical side and true sides of man, nature and animal..also about the ancient rememdies of mankind using natural herbs and plants. These lost arts are used by many cultures by the natives of many lands to include: north and southern country Native Indians, Africans, Egyptian, Celtic and those of the Mexican/Aztec cultures. Some may think of certain beliefs as cults or voo doo, but beyond the exaggerated stories and contraditions, there are some truths going deep into the past of reasons and the basics of man and animal evolution.
Not as shown on the picture, which was a bummer, but still great.
