A little tricky to adjust controls but sound quality and features are superb.

This is an excellent receiver. It's dated, but still a decade newer than the high end Onkyo it's replacing. To get this kind of quality for less than $500.00 is a steal, even if it's a few years old.

I needed a basic receiver to run at least a 3.1 speaker arrangement for our beach house. I had a brand new Yamaha RX-V365 doing that but the Yamaha was simply incompatible with the Comcast remote and also was extremely difficult to operate with a Logitech Harmony remote. So I thought I would go for something less complicated but with several digital inputs to accomodate an HD cable box,a Bluray player and a ROKU box. The STR-DE675 could do that and more. I won the auction on eBay and got it delivered for a very fair price and it was in absolute perfect condition. No remote though but I found the remote on eBay for a few bucks more. Don't know if I even needed the remote. I set the Sony up after disconnecting the Yamaha. I have a 3.1 setup using Acoustic Research HD-510 fron, left, right and a 150 watt 10" matching AR sub. The Sony sounds great. It became clear to me that that tha basic technology of surround sound has not changed very much at all in a decade. 6.1,7.1 are the only real changes and somewhat gimmicky to me anyway. The Sony delivers plenty of power and has dozens of features. I shut off the surround capability and still have many features and it was easy to setup including programming the Comcast remote. I had no need for HDMI of any sort so this Sony fit the bill to provide great sound and simplify the video/audio experience. I spent some time tweaking the settings and am extremely happy with it. I looked on eBay for several weeks at dozens of different offers, but the older Sony's seem to be the best value for money if what you want is good, powerful sound quality with earth shaking bass capability. Recommend highly.Read full review
The unit works fine and sounds great with my large speakers. Thanks so much.
