A basketball game that has aged fairly well.

NBA 2K6 was the first basketball game I've ever played on the Xbox 360 when it first came out. I recently purchased this game again on eBay, and I have to say thay this game has aged fairly well imo. I don't play many sports games nowadays, but NBA 2K6 is one of my favorite basketball games in the NBA 2K franchise. With that being said, for a game that came out 15-16 years ago, to my surprise the game still looks and plays decent. The way player's uniforms would move, and the way players would sweat more and more as you got deeper into the quarters was just revolutionary and amazing for its time. Also, if you're someone like me who wants to visit NBA 2K6 for nostalgia, I think you're gonna be impressed on how well this game still plays for its age. Also, if you're an achievement hunter ...

  • Good (not great) all-around basketball game....

I bought NBA 2k6 a few weeks ago, and I think I got a very good game of basketball for my money. I love the atmosphere that the game has to it. It really kinda makes you want to play basketball. I also love all of the options and features that the game has to offer. As is the norm with a 2K Sports title, the game is rich in atmosphere, options, and alot of extra bells and whistles. The thing I dislike the most about the game is its control system. The controls are good, just not great. Again, as is the norm with a 2K Sports game, the control scheme just isn't as good or as smooth or as fluid as its competition's. Sometimes I think the people at 2K try to be too innovative for their own good (and for the good of their games), and I feel that is the case again here with NBA 2k6. I ...

  • NBA 2K6 a Solid Basketball Game

NBA 2k6 is the best basketball game I have ever played and it should be considering it is one of the first on the Xbox 360. The only place it is lacking is the graphics, but that is expected when it isn't a true xbox 360 game (made for more then just next gen. consoles). Anyone off the court (the crowd, coach, cheerleaders) all look like previous gen graphics. I have NBA 2k6 version on both 360 and ps2. You can really tell the difference between them (not in just graphics either). The gameplay is must smoother allowing you to play all day and not get bored. This game is very addicting for the first 6 months you have it. The players also have a lot more moves in the lane then the PS2 version. The jerseys are probly the most graphical upgrade, although there is a glitch in the game where ...

  • NBA 2K6 vs. NBA Live 06

I happen to own both basketball games for the xbox 360 and i've been drawing comparisons between the two. Surprisingly, The graphics and camera settings are much better on NBA 2K6. I've been a PS2 live guy for about 4 years and was disappointed Live 06 didnt bring the All Start competitions in the game (3 point shootout, dunk contest.) The controls, dunks, and dribbling are all better in Live 06 (and teh alley oops) Ive tried to be as impartial as possible: Live 06 has better controls overall, NBA 2K6 has better graphics- I have the feeling both were kind of rushed into the Xbox shelves just to satisfy the basketball consumer though!

  • Similar to the Xbox version

2K6 introduces the cloth animation psychics. The uniform moves separately from the character models. The 360 version has more polygons in the character models than the original Xbox version. There are some scenes which utilize the motion capture feature. You can notice this when you shoot free throws with certain players such as Richard Hamilton or Tim Duncan. The cover athlete Shaquille O’Neal uses the most motion capture. So it's just as playing with the real Shaq. The 360 version moves more smoothly due to the added frames per second. 2K games weren't able to update everything for this game, so the coaches and fans look identical to the original Xbox version. Lastly the game sliders: The most "charging" was toned down from the previous version. For the Xbox version, usually ...
