About this product

Product Information

Find out what happened before the thrilling adventures of the critically acclaimed game "Dead Space" with a prequel that puts you in the center of the initial Necromorph invasion. Fight to save humanity in this gripping adventure from Electronic Arts and Visceral Games, made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The shocking sci-fi survival horror style of the first game remains intact here as you face off against your enemies and strive to protect a young girl that may be the key to saving the human race. "Dead Space: Extraction" tells the previously untold story of the Aegis VII Colony who are attempting to reach the USG Ishimura when a deadly infection breaks out. The effects are swift and devastating, and suddenly allies are being brought down with symptoms of dementia, and all of the horrific carnage of this infection cannot be contained. Soon, it becomes known that a special young girl alone is the key to immunity and keeping her safe must be the main objective. This is not an easy task as you come face to face with terrifying alien enemies, the Necromorphs, which lurk around every corner. In this unique and genuinely scary gameplay experience, your character rolls through the game, exploring dark and twisted caverns and narrow corridors, never knowing what may await around the corner. Reacting quickly is key if you’re going to make it out alive. In "Dead Space: Extraction," your Wii remote becomes a light gun that you can use to fire at the Necromorphs or other dangerous enemies and objects that you encounter on screen. There are also a number of intuitive controls at your disposal that allow you to take whatever action you deem necessary given the circumstances. Using you Wii remote, you can strategically dismember the bodies of your enemies, freeze them, manipulate gravity with telekinesis, solve puzzles, and defend yourself even when being attacked at zero gravity. What makes this enthralling sci-fi adventure so unique is that it is designed to be a true horror show, punishing you with some of the most intense scares you’ve ever encountered in a video game. Fully engrossing storytelling puts you right in the center of the frightening action as you’re bombarded with panic-inducing audio and creepy graphics that hit you rapidly through your intense first-player perspective. More than a video game, "Deep Space: Extraction" plays out more like an interactive horror movie experience. Exciting co-op gameplay means that you don’t have to face the Necromorphs alone. Jump-in cooperative play allows a friend to join you on your mission to stave off the invasion, and you can work together to solve challenging engineering puzzles you may encounter throughout the game. In this thrilling prequel, you get to play as many different members of the Aegis VII colony as you’re introduced to several new characters and get to arm yourself a variety of impressive new weapons.

Great game for those who want the complete Dead Space experience!

Always loved the Dead Space franchise but never played this game; kept meaning too lol. Haven't finished it yet but it is an enjoyable play-through with some unique game interactions for the Wii. The game is a prequel to Dead Space and explains some of the things that Isaac Clarke finds as he explores the Ishimura. Of course compared to the graphics for the 2023 Dead Space remake these leave a lot to be desired but certainly still playable. The game ranks your play so I may give it at least 1 more play-through when I finish to see if I can improve.

Not what i thought it would be

If you didnt have to sit through every movie that would be a start I read the reviews that said best rail shooter on Wii its the same thing over and over again you shoot a guy 3 times his head comes off resident evil umbrella chronicles and dark side chronicles are better so far a boring game I also own the house of the dead series for Nintendo Wii and like them better

  • You NEED to add this to your Dead Space collection!

I absolutely loved the Dead Space series for the Xbox, so when my Xbox broke and was left with a Wii, I simply had to buy this game. I expected mild similarity to the original, with jump scares in a rail-shooter environment. I was dead wrong. Picture playing the original Dead Space, except with EVEN MORE immersion in a first-person perspective. That's what this game is all about. You have the same atmosphere and creatures as the original, but you see them up close. Jump scares are even more frightening because they are in your face; they take up the whole screen, and make using the Wiimote even more terrifying because it's the only thing that stands between you and what seems like a real threat. The controls are very tight with little to no questionable button choices, and are very easy to ...

  • The Best On-Rail Shooter For The Wii

I have played Resident Evil : Umbrella Chronicle and Resident Evil : Darkside Chronicles and watched House of the Dead : Overkill being played. Dead Space : Extraction surpasses them all in terms of graphical fidelity, truly engrossing story telling, and intuitive utilization of the Wii Motion controls and attributes. The story in particular is the true standout with my favorite chapter of the game being one which sees a very unexpected character become the chapter's hero. What a fantastic and surprising twist in the typical cadre of protagonists in horror games like this one. I commend Visceral for their intriguing and very human choice of protagonists for this chapter. The softer sex does not mean the weaker sex, as this chapter demonstrates. My brother and I finished the game in 2 ...

  • Concidering this sysem doesn't offer many adult games, it a welcomed change

First let me say, this game makes Resident evil and Tomb raider seem like a church pic-nic. Make sure the kids are asleep as it is violant and has VERY course language. Now for the game, this is one of the very few games that nes rated M and means it! It's an awesome game so far! It's nice to play a game that's NOT RACING OR SILLY ANIMATION! I think they forgot that there are still adults that like video games!! I've been gaming for 20 years, so I can safely say this is going to be a great game! I haven't played it for more than a couple hours, and the game is still moving ME through the sceens. Not sure if this will change or not. Story line is very well done. It pulls you in, so I think it's worth adding to your M arsonal...
