About this product

Product Information

Tecmo's third horse-racing sim to come to North American PlayStation 2 consoles, Gallop Racer 2004 follows the lead of its predecessors to the starting line, but makes a few adjustments out of the gate. The game's "Season" mode casts the player as a relative newcomer to the sport, with just one horse, a small barn, and aspirations of greatness. By hiring a jockey and training properly, players will be able to enter a few regular races, and hopefully bring home some winnings. With the proper funding, they'll be able to improve their stables, offices, and other facilities, leading to faster animals and even greater chances to enter the winner's circle. Players can sit back and try to make some extra money by betting on races, or take the role of the jockey to guide the horse to victory. Gallop Racer 2004's "Extra" mode features tutorials and practice tracks, and well as multiplayer races for up to four competitors.

    BEST HORSE RACING GAME!!!!

    This edition far surpassed GR2003. The only aspect that would make this edition better is betting. If the betting was the same as GR 2003, this would be perfect. In the GR 2003 you could bet on your own races that you raced, which gave you lots of money. Now you can only bet on races you are not racing in. Adding the trainers to the game made it alot more interesting as well as the rival competition. I can't wait to further explore the breeding of the horses. I am up to year 3 and i have 2 horses that will conceive in the next year. This game is alot of fun. If you love Gallop racer this is my favorite better than even 2006, YOu must get this version. The original manual for 2003 and 2004 used together are priceless they apply to both versions. Any information you can't figure out ...

    Micro Management Lovers Horse Racing. :)

    This is one of my favorite games! Its management intensive and there are a lot of stats to track. I actually have to write charts in a notebook where I keep track of which horses need to go into which races each season to win certain titles or year end awards. You do have to micro manage your horse during the race and know when to do what. I've even got a little formula to know when to whip certain horses. Not a game for most people, but a great game for some. I love breeding my own horses and giving them spiffy names, then seeing them win G1 races.

    Gallop Racer 2004

    I have been buying the gallop racer series since the first one came out, and i feel this one is the best. Even better then 2006. It allows you to own and race horses, as well as run other trainers horses. It has great graphics. In previous gallop racers i have found that the only way to win was to use cheats. With this version that is not needed. It provides a challenge but allows you to get animals that stand a chance of winning. So If you like Horses, and racing them i would recomend this game for you .

    Well I love this game because I love horses and I had before gallop Racer 2001 and I got rid of it. That was a mistake that I did now that I saw gallop Racer 2004 on Ebay I decide to bid on it and I got. And now I play the game about two hours a day..
