Great cameras for the money
The cameras work great as described in the description the rebel G had a faded screen but it’s not that bad. The only reason that I put 4 stars and not 5 is because there’s fungus on the viewfinder of the rebel 2000 and there are spots in the rebel G’s viewfinder which weren’t described in the post. Overall great cameras they just need a bit more cleaning up! Thanks!

I absolutely LOVE my Canon EOS Rebel G! Even though it has a manual mode, I've never learned how to use it. I just stick it in auto and GO. It's practically idiot proof. That said, there is only one thing about the auto mode you will need to learn before taking your pictures (and this can all be found in the manual). In order for your camera to focus on the object, you must press the shutter button half way down, allow the camera to focus (which you will see through the viewfinder and you will also hear a beep), then press the shutter button down completely to take the picture. I know that may sound a little complicated, but once you do it a time or two, the process just comes naturally. (The hard part is trying to explain that to other people who may be taking your pictures.) I think you ... I absolutely LOVE my Canon EOS Rebel G! I know everyone is jumping on the digital bandwagon, but for all of you old-schoolers out there (myself included), this is the way to go. Please keep in mind, it can be a little bulky (especially when in a carrying case); so, it's probably not recommended for all places or vacations if you don't want the extra luggage. What I learned to do was use the carrying case as my purse instead of carrying around 2 bags. :) When I was looking for my first "good" camera, the Rebel G was recommended to me because it was easy to use and also took fantastic pictures. Now that I've had the camera for quite some time, I am now in the position to recommend it to others. Whether you're a beginner, or whether you know how to use the fancy options, I do believe you will be satisfied with the quality of your pictures and how simple it can be to take them.

Great entry level SLR camera
I loved the Rebel G I had. It's a great entry-level SLR camera, but retains important features a professional needs. You have the option of just 'taking pictures' but there are also full Manual, Aperature priority, Shutter priority, program, and depth-of-field priority modes. I've used all of the above to some extent and each mode works well for me. The Rebel G is definitely not in the same size range as a pocket digital camera, but it's also not overly hefty. It is similar in size and weight to any other film SLR marketed. It's made mostly of plastic, which brings me to another point. Unlike the higher-end Canon EOS cameras, the Rebel uses a plastic lens mount. I'm not a big fan of that. Even my old 1983 Canon manual focus T50 has a metal lens mount. It hasn't given me any problems, ... I loved the Rebel G I had. It's a great entry-level SLR camera, but retains important features a professional needs. Another great Canon product
I've always been a Canon fan. I still have an AE-1 that I still use. My wife wanted a nice camera that is very easy to use and still takes great pictures. I recommended the EOS line and explained the differences in the models. This is the one that she liked and it has performed extremely well for her. It has all the features she wanted, now all I have to do is get her some zoom lenses for it.I've always been a Canon fan. I still have an AE-1 that I still use. My wife wanted a nice camera that is very easy to use and still takes great pictures. I recommended the EOS line and explained the differences in the models. This is the one that she liked and it has performed extremely well for her. It has all the features she wanted, now all I have to do is get her some zoom lenses for it.
