There is a certain amount of realism in the chili peppers that is not so common in a lot of popular bands these days. They write their own songs. A lot of bands have other people writing their material and a producer who's producing it so they can get on the radio or on television, so that they can be part of a genre or a category. In that manner, it's not going to be an honest form of expression to begin with, because these bands are trying to be something that can get over. The peppers produce music they believe in, that defies trends or what is currently the commercial craze. I mean Jesus Christ.. The kids today are really getting shortchanged. I hope they can get turned on to something more stimulating than the " mainstream ". But rather than trashing that which sucks and is lame, I'd ... Off The Map goes to show how peppers gigs sre so honest, so explosive. There’s just something about the live element, where you feel such a rush of ecstasy, it’s inexpressible. It may only been for three hours, but you see the beauty of life vividly, with wonder and appreciation. The internal adventure that they send you on is such a valuable form of self-exploration. It's just beautiful, everyone dancing, and jumping around losing themselves in total freedom. A very nice mixture of tunes, from Blackeyed Blond, to Me And My Friends.. I consider this dvd to be right alongside Slane, in terms of sheer beauty, energy, and a frankness that taps at your heart.

Great band
RHCP is a great group. This live concert was wonderful. Great music. The camera work was good. Wasn't to fuzzy to watch. There were some parts that was hard to see, but you can make it out. Love there music.
