Notes
In Utero is the third and final studio album by American rock band Nirvana, released on September 13, 1993, by DGC Records. Nirvana intended the record to diverge significantly from the polished production of it's previous album, Nevermind (1991). To capture a more abrasive and natural sound, the group hired engineer Steve Albini to record In Utero during a two-week period in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The music was recorded quickly with few studio embellishments, and the song lyrics and album packaging incorporated medical imagery that conveyed frontman Kurt Cobain's outlook on his publicized personal life and his band's newfound fame. Soon after recording was completed, rumors circulated in the press that DGC might not release the album in it's original state, as the record label felt that the result was not commercially viable. Although Nirvana publicly denied the statements, the group was not fully satisfied with the sound Albini had captured. Albini declined to alter the album further, and ultimately the band hired R.E.M producer Scott Litt to make minor changes to the album's sound and remix the singles "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies". Upon release, In Utero entered the Billboard 200 chart at number one and received critical acclaim as a drastic departure from Nevermind. The record has been certified five times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and has sold 15 million copies worldwide.

Very, very good and honest seller, as he said, very honest to post the goods. The vinyl is very good, exactly the same as in the photos, the packaging is also very good, and there is no problem.I bought it by auction, and there was no ”strange price increase“ in the middle. 100% recommend this honest seller!🌹 【There is a trace on the vinyl, but it is not the seller‘s problem. I hope it can be played normally.❤️

  • Phenomenal. You gotta get this album.

This pressing is phenomenal. 2 discs 180g is quiet and clear with no noticeable background noise. I thought I knew this album in and out. This remix pulls backing vocals up in the mix and guitars seem to have more separation. I heard subtle guitar parts in Scentless Apprentice that must’ve always been there but were not noticeable in the original mix. Dave’s drums sound fat, full and in your face but not overpowering. I was skeptical and just assumed it would be a failed attempt. I was wrong. Definitely needs to be in any fan’s collection.

  • The Band did this anniversary press justice

This 45RPM is very quiet it allows you to hear all the instrumentation on the album. I had the original release on CD and a digital copy of this release. This is easily my favorite of this recording. I have Fried’s say they are so use to the less clear OG pressing it just sounds more like Nirvana to them.
