This game has a special place in my heart. I remember it was one of the last games I bought for the Sega before moving up to the PS1. Back in the mid 90's Street Fighter was all the rage and in it's wake 100's of these SF clones were made. Most were pretty forgettable though some were pretty good in their own right. This was definitely what I would call a sleeper hit. At the time it wasn't taken very well by critics and within good reason on some points, mostly the sloppy feel of the controls. It was tough to get use too and backwards from most fighters of the day which you could pick up on quick, this one took some getting use to. Also you only get 8 characters to choose from which is small compared to other rosters on fighter games back then. So a small cast and funky controls left most people frustrated and gave up on it quick. But to me this was a fighter ahead of it's time. A lot of the advanced controls in modern fighters are pretty similar to what you find here. Also like Mortal Kombat of the day you could perform fatalities but sadly since word through the grapevine is they were rushed to release this and all characters pretty much do the same thing with only one having a unique fatality move. But outside of all of that this is a pretty fun one to play, if you were to make a choice between this or super street fighter 2 I would say take SF, it is the more solid game after all. But looking for something different and like me have a soft spot for a game with a Conan the Barbarian feel then you might like this. And if you're use to playing modern fighters with their control layouts then this should be fairly simple to get use to.Read full review
i have enjoyed weaponlord the grapics on good for the sega genesis,i recently bought myself a genesis console,i had given my old one to a friend,s child a few years ago.anyway this game is enjoyable and kinda hard as well.
Very fun fighting game for the 16 bit era, so sad that this game didn't get a lot love like it should, would have loved to see a remake or a sequel. This game is Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown put all in one and is a very overlooked gem of a fighter.
