I didn't discover it right away because I was travelling and then got into a car accident. When I finally showed the seller the result of their inadequate, lazy packing job, straight out of the box (shown), they suggested glue. Refused refund, saying too long ago. Horrible attitude. Precious antique destroyed by sheer laziness.

    Great covered butter dish

    This butter dish is sturdy and heavy enough that it does not slide around when trying to cut the butter. I love the handle on top which makes it so much easier to take it off. The first one I bought did not have a handle and I kept dropping the top, especially when it got greasy from the butter. The only complaint that I have is that I wish it were a little bit bigger overall. The long stick of butter completely fills the bottom inner edges so that I often hit it with the top when I am putting it on. I tend to have butter all around the inside of my top.

    Pros: Beautiful color and finish (looks good in any setting); Cover fits dish very well; Not heavy or awkward to use; Easy to clean; Fits a 4 ounce stick (American size/style) of butter perfectly; Cons: Sometimes I like to use the "shorter/squatter" sticks of butter... the cover tends to come in contact with and stick to the butter... In summary: No real complaints!

    Simple and perfect

    I could not find a new butter dish I liked after mine broke. I purchased this plain white one and added my own touch with the vinyl letters. I love the way it looks. I also like that there is a tiny ridge on the plate to let you know exactly where the lid sits, so that you don’t end up with butter all over the lid.
