    The ultimate in cheesy B movie horror!!

    This odd little movie with a no name cast, cheesy 70s special effects, and a dark, sarcastic wit really strikes a strange note in the twisted realm of 70s horror movies. When Phantasm rolled out in 1979, it was pretty much laughed out of the theaters bowing to such legends as Halloween, Carrie, and Alien and the Amityville Horror. Many critics and people criticized it for its flaccid acting (with the exception of Angus Scrimm, the Tall Man) and special effects so cheesy, even the Government cheese was gourmet!! But all humor aside, like the ugly duckling that grows into a beautiful swan, this movie grew with time into a very fond and well accepted contribution to the Cult movie community. If you can get over the silliness of it all, Phantasm is a rather innovative show with that amazing ...
