    This video contains three Stooge shorts featuring Shemp Howard (Samuel Horowitz, older brother of Moe and Curly), who does a fine job as the third Stooge. Shemp was one of the original team when they made films with Ted Healy in the early '30s, and reluctantly returned to the team in 1947 to replace his ailing brother Curly and keep the act going... The silliness begins with "Fright Night"(1947), the first short with Shemp post-Curly. In it, the three are managers for boxer Chopper Kane (Dick Wessel), who is slated to fight "Gorilla Watson", and who isn't too interested in training after meeting Kitty, a lady friend of the Stooges. They are threatened by a gangster named Big Mike (Harold Bauer), who demands they throw the fight, or else. The zany ending in the warehouse is slapstick ...
