Well-suited for high-speed sports photography or just for catching a unique sequence, this Sony 16.1 MP camera features Sony's popular Translucent Mirror Technology, which enables the Sony alpha a57 to shoot at 10 fps with continuous auto-focus and auto-exposure control. Additionally, the Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor at the core of this digital SLR camera brings high resolution with reduced noise, even in low-light situations. To rapidly zoom in on a scene, this Sony 16.1 MP camera deploys tele-zoom high-speed shooting with a 1.4x increase of focal length. Sony's exclusive By Pixel Super Resolution Technology enhances the Sony alpha a57, doubling the effective focal length, therefore providing greater shooting flexibility. Other features of this digital SLR camera include an eye-level electronic viewfinder with an easy-to-use interface, SteadyShot INSIDE stabilization, and a tilt-and-swivel 3-inch (7.62-cm) LCD screen. The black body of this Sony 16.1 MP camera weighs about 539 g, and its approximate measurements are 132 mm wide by 97 mm high by 80 mm deep.

Screen is cracked and needs to be replaced. Will test screen functions when I have installed a new screen. Tested with Minolta AF zoom lenses. Auto focus functional. Sensor functional. Able to focus and store photos on SDHC card. fair purchase if screen is only issue.

    Fabulous Camera

    I first got a Sony A57 a few years ago for a trip to South Africa. It exceeded my expectations! I just got another one to keep on a tripod to take photos of birds at our feeder. I am using Minolta Maxxum lenses which work perfectly and equally as well at a fraction of the the cost of similiar Sony lenses. This is a good travel camera! Very flexible and produces great prints! I have made prints up to 13x19 that are absolutely beautifull. Lenses are available in both Sony and Maxxum brands that allow you to photograph virtually anything.

    SONY A57 - Older Workhorse, great shooting features

    Used Camera bodies...know this: Bad Pixels are sometimes hard to spot until a critical moment. The only drawback to this purchase was two bad pixel clusters on the sensor. But the camera is still quite usable and very nice. The SONY A58 is a newer, lighter version of the A-Mount SONY's, but lacks many of the best features of the A57.

    Fantastic camera

    Pros: Low noise @ high ISO, well balanced body, clear image zoom, excellent battery life Cons: EVF is a little hard to get used to Bought this as an upgrade from the a380 and couldn't believe the difference in picture quality, especially at high ISO. Less noise @ ISO 3200 than the a380 had a ISO 800. Easier to handle (larger grip), much longer battery life (almost twice as long), and love the Sweep Panorama. Have even been able to take hand-held shots as slow as 1/5 of a second shutter speed. The only worry I had when I bought this was whether my Sigma lenses would work, especially the older ones, but they work perfectly. Sony has really hit a home run with this camera.

    Excellent Camera. very satisfied. For a used camera.

    I purchased the Sony Alpha 57 for my caribbean cruise. I took over 1000 pictures and some video. I still have a lot to learn about camera what a huge product for such a reasonable buy, as I bought it used. I am so happy, so satisfied. I cannot believe the beauty and the clarity of the pictures. Sony is top of the line. Very incredible for the price what I have and all the features. Thank you Sony!

    Fantastic Camera, I left NIKON for this beauty.

    I have used this model shooting indoors with horrible light with no flash at all and got excellent pictures shooting in RAW. I absolutely love this camera, It is best shot at f1.4-2.8 minolta AF lenses for fast action. Hands down this is the BEST CROP SENSOR to date in 2015. If you want to spend the extra $$ and buy a Nikon D7100 you will get a little better imaging but price wise, your buying a D300S and getting much more for the $$.
