The disappointment in this game disc is not the games themselves, but rather the fact that all of the advertising infers that it contains, "classic arcade games." In actuality however, this is Pac-Man and Wii characters involved in various scenarios. Perhaps the games on this disc were at one time in arcades, but I was looking for something that went back to the original days with standard Pac-Man, Galaga and similar. This disc seems pretty much just another attempt to milk a few more dollars from the Pac-Man name.

I've only been able to watch my older daughter who is a serious gamer watch play this game who is bored easily with it because it is way to easy for her. I've just had neck surgery so am unable to play myself but it looks like it will be a blast to me when I'm able to play. I'm more in to the kiddie type games, so I think it will be more fun to me. I'm not so much into the RPG Games like my oldest daughter and her husband. That's why I wanted the Wii in the first place...to play more of the kiddie games like Mario and fun kid stuff. I loved the Nintendo(super). I think it will also be a great game for younger kids, and that they will enjoy it lots. Can't wait till my grandson gets a tad older so he can start playing the Wii. It won't be long. I love the graphics, and my daughter really did love some of the games more than some of the others, and she's about 30. All in all I think it's not a bad deal if you're more in to the older kiddie stuff like I am, as well as some of the new. Can't give you much more information since my neck surgery has hampered me from doing much of anything for a few months. Sorry, not the best reviewer.Read full review
Even in the midst of more spectacular graphics, I still wish I could play the old Atari favorites like Galaga, Galaxian and Pac Man more than any game they turn out these days. Unfortunately, on Namco Museum Remix for wii, I found Pac man almost impossible to move (maybe it's my lack of experience), and I couldn't find a rapid fire capability for Galaxian and galaga, which I found frustrating. The NEW Galaxian remix DID have a rapid fire capability, so I enjoyed this game, but for me, they still haven't brought these games to their original enjoyable format yet. Maybe one day ...
I am a big follower of the Classic Namco games being as I was born in the dark ages when we played with the joy stick for video games. When they titled this Namco Museum Remix they definitely weren't lying. If your expecting to see anything remotely familiar to the original PacMan and other museum games you will be highly disappointed. But if you like a little twist to your classic fun then this is for you. I've only paid it a hand full of times and it's growing on me. Still wished I'd bought the Namco Museum Classic instead of this one. Need the familiarity of it I guess. But all in all it's good clean fun.
I really like that it has new games that are spacey and fun. It also has the old-style archade type games. I love this! It's fun to see my parents have fun with this game. My brother says it's easy, but for a beginner like me... well, I struggle :) I don't play it as much as my other wii games, but it's great to add into the mix of things!
I seriously wonder what the Namco folks were smoking when they were working on this piece of garbage. Most of the game feels like it was designed by a child instead of a long standing video game company such as Namco. It's not really the games themselves that are the disappointment. They are quite enjoyable. When you can play them that is. It is a combination of both the horribly wonky controls plus multiple problems with frame rates that are amongst the long growing laundry list of disappointments. The game comes with five "remixed" versions of classic games all doctored up for the Wii console. These are newer adaptions of old classics that are really nothing more than an insult to their original format and creators. These are from some of the greatest and most resprected franchises in Namco's history. Great names like Galaga, Pac N' Roll, and Rally-X. When playing these games, you will surely notice one thing, and that is that they are milking Pac-Man for everything he is worth. He appears in each and every of the remix games, and the object of each game is to either "protect" him from aliens or to make him a successful race driver. I like and respect Pac Man and his character likeness and all, but seeing him in every game really feels creepy. The games themselves are OK and some of them are somewhat "promising" to give you a good game experience, but for the most part the whole series is really odd and gives the newer generation of players a bad sense of what the original games were like. Probably the worst part of this collection is just the countless number of stupid mistakes and "oops" moments that make it's presence. When you look at the description on the box, as well as reading the manual, you will see that the game supports the use of all control methods from the WiiMote and Nunchuck, WiiMote in horizontal position, and Classic Controller. They might as well just have just made controls for the Nunchuck only since it IS required for proper play and to navigate around the selection screens. You will see this statement when you start the game. You CAN plug in one of these additional options, but in order to select a new game to play, you have to disconnect the classic controller from the WiiMote and reconnect the Nunchuck to navigate within the selection menu. Given this, playing with the WiiMote in horizontal position is pretty much impossible due to the awkwardness of the connector wire hanging from the side of the remote. It just makes control in this position really horrible and uncomfortable due to the plastic connector sticking out. The last gripe is not the most annoying, but really gets on your nerves. That is the noticeable framerate lags seen throughout some of the remix titles as well as the Namco designed game selection area. As you move PacMan around the arena of different games, you will see the picture jump and lag depending on where you are at and how much graphic elements are on the screen. If all these problems were not present, and if they had omitted all the remixed titles and just included a collection of arcade classics, then this title would be so much more enjoyable. But these additions, and the horrible control system really drag this potentially worthy collection down to the bottom of the barrel.Read full review
Consisting of several variations on the classic pac-man game, this game is a lot of fun for ages 3+. Of course not all the games are playable by very young children but they can enjoy some of the easier ones, even if it is just to move the pac-man around (without really accomplishing the goals). I bought it for my 4 and 7 year olds and they loved it (for a while, as with any other game or toy). However, I'm not done playing it myself :)
We had to wait till Christmas to open this game but I was so glad I made this purchase. I remembered all those early video games that I played when I was a kid and it was such a fun experience to play it again with my kids. They also made 3d version of Galaxy and we were able to play together up to 4 players to defeat the bug monster. My kids loved playing 3d version of PackMan. I found the whole package was excellent and would recommend to anyone at any age (maybe for those who remember first generation PackMan, Invador, Galaxy, and etc., games for sure) and for a family. It's fun and you wouldn't regret this game package.
Overall this is a good group of games. I love retro games and I've owned several of the Namco retro releases. I've been waiting for a release that had Super PacMan, so I was really excited to see this for the Wii. The fact that it used the classic controller was perfect - no need to wave the Wiimote. Right? Not exactly. First you MUST use the nunchuck to navigate the lobby. This means plugging in that accessory. Once a game is selected, then you must unplug the nunchuck to plug in the classic! Ugh! It's a constant game of controller swap and it's not much fun. I suggest getting this game IF you love the retro titles AND you have lots of patience. Overall an average experience.
