I much prefer honest, true to the source audio reproduction, and while there is an "emphasis" on the bass capabilities, this unit has a very clear, loud, and full sound. It will not muddy your music with "enhanced bass" or anything of the like. It is also a hefty speaker, which I enjoy -- an unabashedly premium-feeling product.
