This screen protector is the soft hydrogel type but still seems to protect my phone even though I carry my phone in my pocket. I have used the the tempered glass protectors and most have done pretty well but since I carry my phone in my pocket they all eventually crack. Time will tell how these soft protectors work in the long term, so far I am impressed.
