    Missing hard drive

As expected apart from the missing hard drive. Would have been nice to have been warned ahead of time about this.

    RROD

Initially the system I purchased was working fine no issues didnt feel like it got hot or anything, well a week in after playing it only 4 or 5 times 2 hours each at most, console red ringed it is no longer operable. I have purchased 2 other 360s recently as well, just fine no issues. My take home is as long as you dont have a problem with opening up your console an cleaning and very likely replacing the thermal paste on your console it will serve just fine. Looking back I should have been more selective on which model to purchase, my RROD was a "falcon" I hear "jasper"s are the most reliable of the "fat" consoles. Personally I like to work on consoles an perform mods which the xbox 360 is ripe for. Do's- 1.change thermal paste 2.clean the consoles internals 3.12v fan mod 4. (Optional) ...

  • 2 stars... EDIT: 3 stars

The first system looked great but red ring of death (returned)... second looked beat up but works well (so far). I think it was just my luck. Everyone else seems to be happy with their systems. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: Added one star - still a great deal with a little work and a $5 repair kit. After further investigation of the second system I received it is obvious that the system has had the x-clamps removed on the GPU and CPU. Just one clamp was actually replaced with 4 bolts and the other was still utilizing MS's poor x-clamp design (its been repaired... poorly). I noticed this only because my second system had died and had to replace the thermal paste/ x-clamps for what seemed the second time. After thorough ...

  • Awesome product! Best value for your hard earned money.

The Xbox 360 is an affordable console well worth the money if you are just going to be a casual gamer. The Xbox 360 has the widest selection of games as compared to any other console. It has some of the best exclusives to Xbox includign Gears of War. However if you are looking to be a serious gamer Microsoft has made it so that all of the extra stuff that you can buy with the console will cost more because of extra cords that you need to buy and the adapter if you would like to go online. Also the subscription for Xbox Live although cheap is also an extra cost. The controller for the Xbox 360 I thin is ergonomically better shaped than the controller for the PS3. The high failure rate of this console is also something to look at as with almost half of the owners needing to buy another one ...

  • The Xbox 360 is _________(insert adjective) compared to the Playstation 3.

+++ Pros +++ 1.) More games than Playstation 3 (The Xbox 360 section at most Gamestop stores is like 2-3 times bigger). 2.) Cheaper system to buy (can be found in bundles online from Gamestop with multiple controllers, games, accessories etc.). --- Cons --- 1.) Design issues. The overall design of the Xbox 360 was rushed to beat its competitors to the market (Launched in the U.S. on November 22, 2005), the shortcuts taken and the design flaws sometimes bring about a nonfunctioning or limited functioning system identified by a number of flashing red lights known as the "Red Ring of Death" or "RRoD". Design flaws include the DVD drive sitting directly on top of the GPU heatsink and greatly restricts airflow inside the system, the motherboard being known to flex or ...
