Great for adding USB 3.0 to an older PC
If you have an open PCI-e port this works assume without having to supply additional power to this board. It also supports 2 additional ports with the proper cables that needs to be purchased separately. Hmmm.. this review does not seem to want to save.

Adds USB 3.0 to older computers
Haven't had the card installed very long, but it works very well and I can definitely see a very considerable increase in transfer speeds for large files. Very affordable solution if your older computer only has USB 2 and a PCI express slot available.

Works well once you get around the driver problems
This USB Controller uses the Fresco Logic chipset which has issues with the drivers that are included with Windows 8 and later. My computer blue screened anytime I was trying to access an external hard drive connected to this card with the Microsoft drivers. I was able to fix this by using the drivers that came on the CD but it reduced performance. great product, works out of the box
i have several older office PCs that require some additional USB 3 connectivity. this is a replacement for the USB 2.0 ports connected to a header on the motherboard. since this doesn't need an additional power cable, and it's low profile, it fits perfectly where i need it. the drivers are built into windows so other than a restart, it worked immediately without hassle.
