if it's not NEW or NEWER model, don't buy USED OR OLD from these merchants!
i bought the product from this dealer because AT&T REFUSED TO SELL ME ONE and wanted to charge me a rental fee of $6 per month EXTRA on my bill. I like the product because i needed it, and it looked the same on the front basically, but with this model i noticed some differences. it did not have a USB connection like the one AT&T gave me, and there was no additional Ethernet port that said Broadband on it. so there were a couple of things missing. the light display was different than the new one i had from AT&T too. so this told me, after i got home and compared the 2, that i was sent an OLDER MODEL version. then it was sporadic on my different wireless connections, the first thing to go was my computer. so i thought it was the computer that was bad. so i NEEDLESSLY bought a NEW COMPUTER ... i bought the product from this dealer because AT&T REFUSED TO SELL ME ONE and wanted to charge me a rental fee of $6 per month EXTRA on my bill. AT&T came back out to troubleshoot and determined that it was IN FACT this faulty device that i was sent that the main ethernet connection into the system was bad. the technician took the device, said it was a piece of junk and that he was going to throw it in the dumpster along the way out, he replaced it with a BRAND NEW 3801 and now i have to PAY the $6 rental fee AGAIN to AT&T. so this was a waste of time to try and buy this one from Ebay. but at least the merchant gave me my money back that i paid him for this junk, however, that doesn't fix the problem that NOW i have a new computer to finish paying for as well, because of this. and i just didn't need this kind of DRAMA at this moment, when i was trying to CUT BACK on my bills. this lead to MORE BILLS!!! MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU BUY YOUR ITEMS LIKE THIS IT IS NEW! DO NOT BUY USED OR YOU MAY BE SCREWED IN THE END OUT OF A LOT OF MONEY! AND MAKE SURE WHATEVER MODEL YOU GET, YOU GET THAT PART NUMBER. THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. THERE ARE DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS ON THESE AND IT WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT IS A NEWER MODEL OR OLDER VERSION AS WELL. JUST BECAUSE IT MAY SAY 3800, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS WHAT YOU NEED AND SOMETHING CURRENT THAT AT&T NOW OFFERS IT'S CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT. THE NEWER MODEL TO THIS THAT YOU NOW WANT IS THE 3801. DO NOT BUY THE 3800 MODELS ANYMORE, EXCEPT THE LATEST ONES THAT HAVE THE EXTRA USB CONNECTION ON THEM. IF THEY DON'T HAVE THIS..THEN YOU KNOW IT'S OLD AND NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.

Money saving
Instead of rent or buy a new one from AT&T, a used one is money saving choice. The one I get works very well, and , ust plug in and change the password, it works immediately. The power adapter is a bonus, since some suppliers do not include the power adapter.
