Only wanted the controller board
I bought this as my own one had died with a lot of data that I needed (why didn't I do backups???!!!) Anyway, I got this one for $28.10 inc P&P which is much cheaper than buying the board separately (and even if I did there was no real guarantee that this would fix my drive, at least this way I figured worst case was I would probably end up with a serviceable HDD for around $30) Anyway as luck would have it the drive arrived and worked fine. I stripped off the board and installed it on my faulty drive which promptly sprang into life as if nothing had happened. So now I have a drive with no controller board, as before!!! Easy to install. And it ran like a champ. It is very suitable for Home use as 200GB is enough for day to day stuff. It is being used as the second hard drive and stores all back-up data from the main drive. It gets about 20% use out of both drives.
