Sorry to hear you didn't get great results however our listing does state to apply over a silver base coat and then apply a clear lacquer. "a rich candy that can be applied over a silver basecoat really nice deep wet look to your finished item. Paint a silver base first (check out the Cool Silver in our listings). Then apply your candy and finally apply a clearcoat."
