A very well built and precise instrument.
I bought this seating die to gain some consistency in seating depth. It works very well and once set I find it extremely easy to adjust for different bullets. One thing I found is that to gain the utmost accuracy you must measure off of the ogive. Measuring from the tip will give you to many variances. I use this in my Dillon 550 and it works great for accurate rounds from my bolt gun as well as my autoloader. Forster makes great no nonsense products that they stand behind. I will definitely be buying one for my other rifle calibers.I bought this seating die to gain some consistency in seating depth. A little tweaking required...
The micrometer portion of the die works perfectly. Very easy to set up and use. With high quality bullets, overall length may vary, but measured to the ogive of the bullet will show very precise seating. The only downside I have found for this die is that it will leave scratches on the bearing surface of the bullet. Fear not! A little lapping compound on the throat of the die and the scratches are now gone. Overall, very impressed.The micrometer portion of the die works perfectly. Very easy to set up and use. Forster Ultra Micrometer Seater Die for 223
This is what you want for precision bullet seating. I was able to seat very accurate rounds with this seater. It's a little costly, but worth it if you take reloading seriously.

It's a Performer
This seating die was all I expected and then some. It is so consistent, the only rounds I mic are the first and last of the lot (normally 20). It's a waste of time to check all of them because I know they'll all be within .002 and I can't ask for better.
