The seller, great: Fast shipping, good price. The product: made in china of lighter metal. First catch the critter bent the trigger rod so that it fell out of place and the trigger plate doesn't move as freely as it did and needs to. Fixable but not nearly as durable as what i've gotten from a local guy (now deceased) in the past.

Nice cage. Lightweight compared to one I used to have. Haven't gotten an animal in it yet so we will see how it holds up later. However my order got here quickly and the cage was easy to get ready for use. Thank you so much!

    Workes great with up grade.

A racoon is strong enough to bend this metal. I had seen reviews that claim that a racoon will destroy this trap. I have also seen photos where the racoon bent the trap door almost in half to get out. I bought this trap knowing it was not strong enough to hold a racoon. SO - The first thing I did was reinforce both doors with steel 1/4" rods. Also Added 1/4" steel rod stabilizer that went all the way around the trap. Zip ties were used to attach the extra Steel. Also used a bunch of zip ties at the trap connections for the top and bottom parts of the cage. All Worked FANTASTIC! - - Caught 4 Racoons and the only thing that got bent was the trip rod. No problem - just bent it back into shape. With these extra pieces added the trap will no longer fold up for storage. But I'm plenty fine ...

Not even strong enough for a cat

If a feral cat easily broke out of this thing then it won’t work for trapping any other type of animal i.e. possum, raccoon etc. weak point is in the thin sliding bar for back. You can easily make and utilize something stronger and more durable though with some ingenuity.

  • NICE LIGHTWEIGHT EASY TO USE TRAP.

Received two of these to catch animals that were raiding my fruit tree orchard. Caught a possum first time out in one of them. They come folded down and are easy to unpack and set up. Definitely recommend them for trapping animals raccoon size or smaller.

  • A great humane trap for a host of small animals

I received this animal trap in a flat box. Once out of the box the trap set up in just a couple of minutes. It is strong and well built. I set out to catch some belligerent cats that frequent my yard. This trap worked well and contained some really pissed off felines. With this trap there is no chance of escape. The animal is contained alive and unharmed. I would recommend this trap to anyone who has a small animal problem. This trap will work on rats, cats, squirrels, possums, and small sized raccoons.

  • Relatively inexpensive and effective if you fiddle with it a bit

We had major raccoon problems. Set traps the first night and all three (we bought three units) tripped without having animals enter. We bent the trip release arm up slightly to adjust pressure required for tripping and caught two raccoons in two nights. We couldn't release them till the afternoon after work and during that time the release pin for the rear door was bent making release that way impossible. A push bar (tree branch) on the front spring and the long trip bar that had also been separated by the raccoons was enough to release it from the entrance side. A bit sketchy with a cranky raccoon, but doable.
