I write this review while using a tool called "SpeedFan", it reads the temperatures of the CPU and HDD, so keep this in mind as I review this. The product does work as intended, once plugged in via USB (which confusingly and worryingly is connected via what appears to be a USB hub, as in you plug a USB into...another USB slot), you can turn a dial to increase fan speeds. And it is indeed quiet, at max speed it lets out a nice stream of air, and is relatively quiet, from sitting distance away it's just as noticeable as the fan built into my laptop. However, there's a problem. While it does keep the bottom of the laptop cool...that's all it seems to do, it doesn't actually cool down the CPU temperatures. My laptop CPU heats up a bit when playing back YouTube videos, generally up to 60C. With or without the fan, the laptop CPU stays at around 60C. Whenever I play Source Engine games such as Team Fortress 2 or Garry's Mod (non-CPU intensive, but GPU intensive games), the temperature hovers around 70-80C. The external fan does not alleviate the temperature problems by any amount. I can say that even through those two tests, the laptop bottom is indeed cooled down regardless of CPU temperature, which I can not say for when my laptop doesn't have this below it. I'd only recommend it if CPU temperature isn't your concern. When I initially purchased it, it was my main concern since my laptop fan somehow stopped working. However, shortly before it arrived, it miraculously started working again. tl;dr: This keeps the bottom cool, but doesn't keep the CPU cool.Read full review

Overall product is good for cooling, good fans and air flow when put in lift position. Not to be used on lap as is very uncomfortable making thighs and knees ache. Does not move easily since readjustment is required will be great if left in one spot for use. Lifting side bars a bit flimsy. Front rolled edge had sharp areas that cut my finger when I was moving it, deep slice, still dealing with it. I would not recommend this style if you like to have your laptop mobile and sitting on your lap. I got a targus padded lap cooling pad, my second one, dog ate cord on first otherwise would still have that one.

Great laptop fan for use with 12 - 17 laptop's to keep them cool. fans can blow in either direction depending on hoe you plug in the device with the USB cord (provided). While the unit is lighted with LED lights they do not provide light for working and may be more of a power drain than a benefit. Although LED's do not consume too much power anyway. even the smallest amount of consumption means a lot when you are on battery mode. and need to be there for a long time. All in all The device works extremely well at keeping my laptop very cool. I would rate it at least an eight of ten stars. I would recommend this to you and my friends.

This unit has superior quality... Keeps computer cool and has speed adjustment.. Fans are so silent in fact that I had to lift my laptop to make sure fans were working. Would recommend product to anyone working from home..

The cord is really poorly placed and hits the fan blades if you move it wrong. It no longer works. It worked great for two days (despite having to be extremely careful not to let the cord shift onto the moving blades. The fan is not strong so doesn't cool much, but did help my computer not to crash as much. For when it actually worked.

This laptop cooling pad appears to be manufactured of high quality materials. Whether the price is right really depends on your budget. Two things are important to note with this device: The fan itself is of a large diameter, and spins at a fairly low RPM. It's very quiet. Further, unlike many coolers, this one directs air up at the bottom of the laptop, rather than pulled down and out. When I had a laptop cooling pad in the past, it was of the latter type and I found it very effective at cooling/keeping cool a laptop that otherwise overheated. This air-up design may not be as effective, but I have not tried it yet.

The wires that run along the inside to power the fan continue to come loose and rub against the fan creating an awful noise. The only solution is to disassemble the case and reattach the cable to their slots. This is not a permanent solution. The plastic is very thin, so if your computer is heavy, it will compress the plastic enough to rub against the fan, creating the same awful noise as the wires. It's cheap, but it does what it says. You get what you pay for here.

Perfect size for my ASUS 11" notebook PC. Very quiet. Airflow is low but very adequate my PC. Nice that it has a dual USB port cable so I didn't lose a USB port.
