Hardcore paintball fans that want to bring the sport to their home gaming consoles: this is your game. Activision has done a decent job bringing the feel of real-life paintball to home consoles with NPPL Championship Paintball 2009. But, is it enough to captivate the casual paintball fan or the gamer looking to lose him or her self in an immersive first-person shooter? NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 is easy to dive right into, all you'll need to do is select a character from a list of real-life professional paintballers, each with his own base attribute package, choose your team and dive right in. You'll want to jump into Career Mode, where you'll begin your career as a lowly Division 2 competitor with standard equipment, but after winning a few tournaments you'll have plenty of points to spend on upgrading your gear and attributes.Read full review
well NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 is a great game in my opionion. i love the sport, but rarely get to play it in real life. this game gives me the opportunity to play whenever I want! i think the double trigger with the rt and rb was a great idea. i couldnt figure out how to crouch or go prone other than sliding or diving. oh well, its not that big of a deal because i do alot of running around. its pretty easy throughout the career mode. nobody plays on xbox live though :( with the exception of about six 10 year olds haha. anyway...good game in my opinion.
great game! I love it...but then again, I love paintball. if you are anything less than a paintball enthusiast however, I would definately not recommend this game, as "campaign mode," (which is essentially a series of tournaments) can get pretty monotonous. There are a few modes though, where you can play speedball or woodsball, and the woodsball portion is a little more entertaining. this is probably because there's more places to hide, and the games last longer than the speedbal 3 minutes. I see this being a good online multiplayer game, but I'm not aware of many who have purchased this game. Graphics in the game are pretty good, but you can tell they skimped in certain areas e.g. character animation (looks choppy) and gun animation (bolts don't move, etc.)
Disclaimer: If you are not a fan of paintball in real life, this game will probably not appetize your hunger for a different genre of a first person shooter. This game is a lot of fun to play, with a variety of skills and an array of unlockable equipment. The only downside of this game is the graphics, and repetitiveness. The whole audio part of this game is pretty bad also. The A.I. is very easy to defeat even on the hardest difficulty. I personally love the game, it's paintball. If you want a change from the regular Army First Person Shooter, this is your game.
Good game IF you enjoy the sport. I did like the way the markers functioned and the double trigger feature and the snapping, but the leaning and the diving and sliding were a bit rough and could have used some improvement. This games graphics are much better than Greg Hastings paintball 2 but Greg Hastings runs a lot smoother and the movements feel more realistic, This game is a good game don't get me wrong but it still gets shot out of the water by Greg Hastings paintball 2.
