Product Information

A flight combat sim dedicated to realism, DCS: Black Shark sends wannabe aces on harrowing missions throughout 125,000 square miles of Eurasian airspace. Players can climb in the extensively detailed cockpit of a Russian Ka-50 attack helicopter, complete with realistic instruments, avionics systems, weapons, and damage modeling, and set off to battle a variety of air, sea, and land units. The "Campaign" mode features a dynamic front line that changes with the success and failure of missions, while an "Arcade" mode offers less challenging missions for beginners. Multiplayer fans can join up to 15 others for cooperative and competitive dogfights, and creative gamers can use the Mission Editor to design their own unique campaigns.

    Best sim ever!

    This is truly the best combat simulator out. I highly recommend buying it! Pros: One of the best features about this game is how well they made the cockpit of the ka-50. Not only can everything be clicked, but you get full 3d view movement, and trackIR can enhance the visual experience. All of the AI seem very realistic and give you some exiting battles. Jumping into multiplayer with friends and blowing ground units to pieces is always awesome. Cons: You can only activate the game 8 times, but its not a big deal, specially since you can deactivate installs to gain your activations back. Conclusion: If your a simulator fan you will love this game.

    DCS Black Shark

    Awsome. If you play Lock-On you need this sim to round out you skills. 100% more detail in the flight dynamics and systems interaction than Lock-On. One down fall, you need a high end system and Windows XP. Product states it does not like Vista because it wasnt programed for the memory control Vista has over your computer. Other than that - perfect. Jason Roberts

    Great Sim, Extremely Poor Instructions...

    Best helicoper flight sim ever, with a few one problems. To start with there's No manual, and only a minimal quick start guide. Dowloading the PDF manual from the DCS website is fine, if you are an actual KA-50 pilot (it literally takes a helicopter pilot to run this sim in realistic mode). There is literally no info with or on the CD explaining how to load weapons or set up missions in the game mode. Good luck figuring this out by trial & error. Also, there is only one scenario in "Instant Action". All in all, very disappointing as not everyone has time and inclination to actually learn how to fly (let alonr fight) a KA-50!!!

    GREAT GAME

    If you like simulations you have to get this game. Just google "DCS Black Shark reviews" and read how many satisfied customers. You can play an easy way or go truly complicated like starting and flying a real helicopter.
