    I took dimensions as literal. Item is not 2 1/4" thick per specs. It is 2 3/8" thick overall. The outside of filter edge is per your spec but the inside rim is 1/8" more. Would have fit perfectly if actually 2 1/4" throughout entire surface. Cover just barely screws on. Product seems of good quality otherwise.
