The Title of this movie is clear.
This story is quite faithful to the facts of the life of this remarkable Belgian priest who chose to live in a leper colony while still a man in his early 30's even though he knew it to be a permanent assignment and a death sentence. Father Damien was truly an an excellent example of True Christian Love and Selflessness! Only if everyone in the world today would emulate Father Damien.......there would be peace on earth....unlike what is going on with the War with Russia and the Ukraine. Father Damien is a Great Saint in Heaven! The horrors of the leper colony were conveyed realistically. The bureaucrats, both civil and religious, are well portrayed.
