    Still a great CPU in 2023

    Pros- Great price to performance if you can get one cheap enough. Pairs well with a 3060 on a b450 board without being held too far back. Stays cool with a proper tower cooler. Has decent benchmark numbers with bios in default mode. Small uplift when overclocked. Cons- 6core/12 thread can be a bit of a hindrance in certain scenarios. Ram speed can be a bit of a pain when getting into higher capacities. The stock cooler is pretty much worthless (I went with an AIO). Very little overclocking headroom. Can still be expensive considering the socket is EOL. All in all its still a very capable CPU if used in the right scenario. This one is for a low-mid tier gaming pc and it suits it perfectly

    Worth the purchase if you're upgrading from a "practical" cpu....

    If you're flashing your bios, it definitely would help to have at least a little tech savy lest you do it wrong and fry your components or make more problems then you had. Overall I am absolutely pleased with the performance over my 3200g, and I guess who wouldn't be. Was putting all my faith in my gpu to pick up the slack but the processor put it over the top.

    Awesome budget cpu that can handle heavy loads

    This very processor is running the computer I'm writing this review. and it's awesome, it runs Hogwarts Legacy with absolutely no issues as with all my other graphics intense games and multitasking. The ryzen 5 5600 is an awesome cpu, it performs fantastic without the high price and power consumption of other advanced cpu's

    AM4 is still the best price for performance.

    Price for performance - this is it right here. 6 cores with 12 threads. Picked up used for less than 80 dollars. Capable little chip at stock. Fine performance with a little bit of tweaking. AM4 platform is still relevant and capable. Dropped this into a B450m Mortar and worked like a charm. You do give up some performance sticking to DDR4 but it is cheap and plentiful. Pick up a cheap 450 or 550 board, 16 or 32 gigs of 3600mhz RAM and your choice of video card (this 5600 shouldn't have a problem keeping up with a 3060 or 4060) and you've got a cheap gaming pc, streaming rig, and video editing rig that is modern and will play most if not all of the latest greatest games at high settings at 1080p. Don't buy this if you want serious number crunching or do a lot of video editing. A ...
