Save replacing the fan
Saved me buying a new fan. I think the old one absorbed some stray voltage from a nighttime lightning strike. Pretty straight-forward replacement. A helper is good to have but I got it by myself even after dropping 3 screws.

It's exactly like the one that went bad. Wired it up. Works like a champ. There are no instructions so just remove power and change one wire at a time if you need to. Remember to set the dip switches to match the replaced unit so your remote works.
