Fast GPS Positioning but not cross compatible with SIMRAD even though NMEA2K.
I was excited to upgrade my GPS to the 24XD with faster Positioning and a built in heading sensor. Sadly, SIMRAD does not support the Garmin 24aXD even though it's a plug and play NMEA2000 compliant device. The 24XD is seen on the network and provides the Position as expected BUT there is no option to calibrate the antenna for the heading sensor on the NSS12 EVO3S. Tech support between two companies is disappointing as well. I'm sure if you own a Garmin Fish finder / plotter this is an excellent GPS antenna but I wouldn't recommend it if you have any other brand. I see why so many people to include the US Military has switched to Ray Marine.
