    Not Just a Horse Story

    This movie is not just about a horse with a lot of time filled in running races. When Laura Hillenbrand wrote the book, she poured through every bit of info she could get about the characters, the US living through a depression as well as interviews with jockeys and former jockeys. The screenplay tried to stay close to her book, searching for actors who resembled the real people and even horses that looked similar in size and color to the equine best of that time. The result is a very inspiring book if you don't like horses about people gritting their teeth through hard times and trying again and again. If you do ike horses, you will love the real Seabiscuit, with his personality, physical failings and like the people, pulling through his own bad times and serious injuries. The included ...

    Good historical drama, close to the book by Laura Hill. You don't need to be a horse racing fan to enjoy it.

    The movie was engaging, it was well directed. The characters were portrayed very well by the actors. The sets were good, it looked like the 1930s. The horse races were well done and looked convincing. So far I have only watched the movie, I have not seen the the other extra feature disc yet, but I am certain it will be fascinating. The movie is close to the book by Laura Hillenbrand. However the book is better than the movie as it is a far more detailed story. I recommend that one should read the book first before watching the movie.
