    Great price for a Ford part

    Great price for a Ford part. Instructions included. Read them several times, dry run to be sure you understand if not familiar with this part. Make sure the detent ball and spring are properly positioned before rotating the key to avoid damage to the spring. The retainer should be fully seated and rotation easy; if not, reposition and do again. Put towel down on table to capture errant balls, as they like to escape.

    Replacement Lock Cylinder

    I have a 2000 F150 that the original lock cylinder and/or keys finally wire out on. I didn’t want to replace the lock cylinder with one that already had keys because that would mean a separate key for the ignition and the doors. So I opted for this OEM piece that has the lugs/tumblers to be able to key it for my keys. My good friend is the Service Manager at a local Ford dealership and they keyed it for my keys. Only negative was no springs for the lugs/tumblers in the kit so we had to scrounge some up.

    Ignition cylinder

    This cylinder has all the parts you need so you won’t need extra keys. Just be careful when installing the spring with the ball bearing. Very easy to install once assembled
