    Great Smoke Alarm, FAST shipping

    Works well, good value. I have 12 smoke detectors in my house; a completely refurbished 1908 home. We were required to install fire detectors in all our rooms and the remodeler installed First Alert smoke alarms and all interconnected. They are all 8 years old and a starting to fail, one at a time. I want to replace them with like kind units, and eBay was the easiest place to purchase them. I have replaced the one bad unit with this one purchased from eBay and it is working fine The unit was very reasonably priced and shipping was FAST!!

    Replacement detector

    The reason I bought this smoke detector is because it replaced an existing one that stopped working after six years. It just slotted right in without any modifications. The house builder installed this model and it has worked satisfactorily until now. My immediate reaction to this product was that it was all a bit flimsy. The battery compartment seemed weak and plastically. However, as I don’t intend to replace the whole unit by another product, it appears that the other alarms will likewise be replaced in time. I believe they are designed to last about ten years before the radioactive source is depleted.

    Great product and was easy to replaced the old ones.

    I bought these new smoke alarm detectors to replace my current ones that were 13 year old. One started to fail so I went ahead and bought 4 to replace them all. I was a bit concerned about replacements because what usually happens is it when you have an old model, that old model would be replaced is a new model but with a different design even though it looks the same when you see a picture of one online.. I was extremely pleased that my old model was still being made and I replaced them all very easily. The base plates were exactly the same and I did not have to do any rewiring. I took less than a minute to replace each one. So yes - I am extremely happy!

    Installed easily

    I needed to replace thirty year old smoke detectors in a manufactured home. These installed easily in place of the old ones. Just a few tools, and a knowledge of electrical connections and safety required. I love the fact that these also have a battery backup. The old ones did not have this option. You don't give a lot of thought to smoke detectors until you need one, or they fail. These seem to be good ones.

    Great Value

    This is a direct replacement for the original units in my home. There was no need to change the mounting plate or the wiring harness. Yes there are new units that have a 10 year sealed battery, but the cost is higher. The common 9 Volt battery is very easy to replace once a year as recommended.
