    Great helps in a less than helpful format.

    This book by Dr. Motyer is full of great content. However, the way the text is laid out does not encourage the reader. The print is small. The footnotes are not always on the same page as the verses they are meant to throw light on. This volume would be very helpful in writing a sermon. However, if you are simply reading the Psalms in a devotional manner, it slows the reader down matching the verse and the footnote. I recommend it for pastors and scholars, but not for novices to the psalms.
