Now I've play the PC version, which vastly differs for this one; I've played the arcade version, which comes in a close 2nd; this one I say is the best out of all of them. In this you can play as the Marine, the Predator, or the Alien. The gameplay is a First-Person-Shooter similar to Wolfenstein 3D. As the Marine, your goal is to get the Level 10 Keycard and set the self-destruct system and escape. This is the hardest of the 3 characters. Most of the doors require a certain level keycard that you have to serch for. It's eay to get lost, especially in the training maze. The Marine, though, has the best weapons: a shotgun, Pulse Rifle, Flamethrower, and a Smartgun. As the Preadator, your goal is to kill the Queen Alien, but first you need to gain Honor Points, by killing enemies while not invisible. This gains you more powerful weapons that makes things much easier. And lastly, the Aliens goal is to rescue the Queen from the Predators. The Alien, unlike the other 2, has lives, depending if you cacooned a Marine. You can cacoon up to 3 Marines at a time. In closing, this is probably the best game on the Atari Jaguar, let alone the only good game on the Jaguar.Read full review
While more recent games for the Atari Jaguar are better (i.e. Soccer Kid, Protector SE, etc.), Alien vs Predator showcases what Atari's 64-bit system was capable of producing. The gameplay is addictive and fun; the graphics are gorgeous for a Jaguar game; and the sound effects add to the game's overall creepy atmosphere. If you're looking to play a GOOD Atari Jaguar game (and don't mind playing a little more than $20), then Alien vs Predator will be well worth your time and money.

I'll make this quick. This is by far the one and only game that all Jaguar owners should have in their collection. It truly shows the power of the system with its stellar graphics and incredible gameplay being able to use marine alien and predator in three separate campaigns. Must own.

For fans of the two franchises definitely. I enjoy the fact that you need to pick up clues to find the various keys. Because the aliens are silent, the game can be make you very jumpy at times. I enjoyed this game more than Tempest 2000 or Rayman personally.

If you have a jaguar this is a game you cant pass by. For its time extra ordinary would be the way to explain. Compared to games out now it still holds its own. Awesome graphics and sound especially when youre the predator when he uses different forms of vision sounds just like the movie. Incredible speed when youre the alien running down corridors you can infest marines with your offspring and make cacoons from which you will hatch from later if you happen to die. And playing as the marine you have to deal with both. GAME OF ITS OWN KIND... and i have been a gamer and a software analyst in the business for years. This game is definately a must have for jaguar owners. Trust me.
Arguably the best game on the Atari Jaguar. Not worth the money it's going for, but worth a play for sure.

far and away avp is THE title to buy for the atari jaguar! you have your choice of the alien, who's weapons include the tail attack, the claw attack, or the double-jaw. the colonial marine have a multitude of weapons including the pistol, pulse rifle, flame thrower, and smart gun. and finally the predatorian warrior, his arsinol includes the wrist claws, the sholder-cannon, razor disk, and the spear. this first person shooter helped make the jaguar a reputable console.
