The first and foremost important thing to know about this Blu-Ray player before buying is that, it does fall under the category of "You get what you pay for". It's cheap, like very cheap in comparison to players with similar/same capabilities, so obviously the product isn't going to be the best. Don't get me wrong, this player is a very great deal for it's price, there aren't many (None that I could find) players this cheap with the amount of features this one has but don't set your expectations to be that of an expensive player. Upon turning it on the first time, You'll have to do some setting up, it's pretty straight forward and easy, but make sure to put the correct information, it's far from convenient to change at a later time. During the setup this player has an option to save energy/power by fully turning it off (most electronics don't do this, they'll have lights or back programs running at all times, using up energy/power) at the cost of about an extra 30 seconds on start up; time well wasted if you're a little green friendly like myself. Some Models have WIFI but some don't, they require a ethernet cable, so make sure that you double check which it has prior to buying. I knowingly bought the Ethernet model because I didn't plan to use the player for anything other than DVD/Blurays, I will admit that wasn't the greatest decision. After a little curiousity I decided to use the ethernet (By no means is ethernet convenient to set up *cords running across the apartment*) and noticed the amount of features that you can do with internet is actually quite amazing for such a low priced machine. One problem I've had in the past with cheap players is that they just kind of die if you leave them on for too long. This player DOES NOT do that (not yet anyways), It has been accidently been left on for days without issues. Although I wouldn't recommend doing that, in the case of accident, it shouldn't be a worry. In my experiences, that's a great selling point, I'm sure many parents would agree! My biggest issue with the player is that it does load very slowly when mass loading, You'll find it's unavoidable when dealing with the apps or an external hard drive (if used), It can be a massive annoyance. It's worst for a hard Ddrive than Apps, Apps are atleast realistically slow, the Hard drive loading speed is just pathetic. I personally use a external hard drive that's filled with movies, I find that I end up wasting roughly 2 seconds for every movie title loaded from it, that's just too slow so I highly don't recommend buying this player for that use. That's my only major issue with the player, other than that, it works well, I'd highly recommend to a friend if they wanted a player to casually watch DVD/Blurays or perhaps a little bit of Netflix. Edit: I've bypassed year 2 and this thing is still running strong.Read full review

Recieved it after ordering, everything was fine. However, after plugging it in I realized the need for a blu ray controller. Without it you can't navigate through the menu, after putting in a disk. So without a controller you can't choose subtitles, scenes or even start the movie! This was saved by the USB input in front of the blu ray, which I connected my keyboard to. Using the arrow keys and the enter button on my keyboard, I managed to get it working! All in all, a great product, however be aware that no controller comes with it :)

I wanted a very simple DVD player for my bedroom. This is it. It has a lot of connectivity but I just want it to play my DVD's. Many, I made myself recording movies off TV. Not all DVD players play them. This plays everything!

I purchased this because some of the Blu-Ray titles I was interested in were from Asia. However, I never did order from any of the other zones so I can't comment on its functionality for other zones. As a player it has worked superbly, There are many functions that I haven't had call to use but from what I have tried, it is simple to operate and it comes with many useful features. It is well worth the price paid.

The Plyer is ready to hook up simple to use and works fine. It does need s wired cable for the internet like Netflix, but if you don't need to use the internet it's perfect.

This player does it's job, but you must remember it's not an HTPC. The streaming functions for Netflix are great, but you will definitely miss the flexibility of navigating YouTube with a real browser. However, the set-up is easy, and connected to my WAN without issue. The playback of video files off external drives and r/rw discs is reliable, but if you have an extensive and deep multi-directory mp3 collection it can be kind of lumbering. Also there is no app for organizing music, and no shuffle function. Also be advised that SEN seems to have dropped VTuner, which I wanted for streaming terrestrial radio. It can be slow, but like I said- not and HTPC- nor is it as powerful as a higher end model with a faster processor, or a ROKU 3, I would wager. If you don't expect a Camry to perform like a Benz, then you won't be disappointed. ;)Read full review

simple, easy to use and plays almost any file format. I have several players and this one by far plays the most variety of video files. I have not found any format it will not play so far and have not had any issues getting it to work on 2nd and 3rd generation copies of items.
