very handsome little pot
I actually returned this, so called, 8-Cup pot and purchased the smaller, single person size. However both were of equal quality and therefor receive very positive reviews from me. Do not be deceived by the sizing. If you enjoy a typical American sized mug of coffee the 8-Cup makes just two of these and the smaller version just one. I love my little one for ease of use, cleaning and coffee making results. It does indeed keep the coffee hot much longer than a regular, glass, french press pot would. The heavy, stainless steel, double wall construction is what accomplishes this feat. Unfortunately it makes the exterior dimensions of the pot deceptively larger than it's interior volume. The pot is handsome to look at but the large one, while it would have been nice to make coffee for both me and my spouse simultaneously, just took up too much space on my counter.Read full review

Bodum Columbia (French Press) 8-cup coffee maker.
I finally took the plunge (no pun intended) and switched to drinking french pressed coffee. If yo've never tried it and you consider yourself a coffee drinker, then you're doing yourself a disservice by no drinking french press. yes, there's that added cholesterol issue, but live a little, I mean coffee is one of the last few vices we've got left. As far as this Bodum Columbia... it's amazing, it's solid stainless steel. I'm sure it will last a lifetime. It's insulated, although we never make enough coffee to let it sit but the insulation does help. it takes up way less space on your counter than a regular coffee maker and it's just downright sexy design. Few things in life are this well made and this functional and remain beautiful to the eye. Word of warning though, you will want to grind your own coffee (like I have to tell any serious coffee drinker that) and you will go through a bit more coffee than you're used to. Also clean up takes some getting used to since you can't neatly pick up the coffee grounds and throw them in the garbage. But this is a perfect opportunity to go put them on your flower bed or in your compost heap. If you're thinking of one of these, then there's nothing to think about because you're ready for the experience.Read full review

Bodum Columbia Steel
I have had many Bodum products over the years, and this is a major disappointment. While the design and build quality are excellent, this press pot leaks when you pour the coffee. I have tried every trick to remedy the problem, but it is a royal pain to have to mop up the counter every morning. Also, while most press pots are sensitive to the size of the grind, water temperature, etc., this model is extremely variable in terms of the pressure required to push the top down. Sometimes it shoots down with zero resistance, other times it is like a total vacuum inside and almost impossible to depress the lid. Overall, a stylish and durable, yet utterly frustrating press pot.

Love it greatest thing ever bodum columbia 8 cup press
Love it's clean look & shine. It stays warm unlike many other coffee presses. Simple to use, fast easy clean up. I would so recomend this to any one that truly loves the perfect cup of coffee with no fuss, no filters. We have a tea pot we use to pour the hot water in. We use fresh ground beans we like Costa Rica coffee. You need to get this if your using a glass press the metal dose not change the taste any and it stays warm unlike a glass press. We love it so much.

Bodum COLUMBIA 8-Cup Coffee Maker
Love it. Bought one for my wife and I and also one for my son who's become a coffee snob. Easy to use and keeps the coffee hot long enough to finish the pot. A little chore to empty the coffee grounds caked at the bottom but that is true of all French Press pots I have ever used. A long handled spatual works pretty well.
