I can record 4k 60p from the z cam e2-s6, monitor with a LUT or one of several different modes offered in monitor, use false color, waveform, vector scope, AND record prores raw! This little monitor gets a bad rap from inexperienced people who think any type of media and cable should work without a hitch. Can’t get your monitor to recognize your camera? Try compatibility mode. Can’t get your monitor to keep a signal while trying to output anything over 1080p 60? It’s your cable, I promise, go with the Zilr 8k hdmi cable. Your SSD isn’t working? It’s probably too slow, take a look for approved drives. Hint WD Blue drives work. I would recommend this monitor/recorder to anyone who doesn’t want to venture out of the $400 USD range but still wants quality gear. Also….if you are using THE SAME POWER SOURCE you’re using for your camera (anything with D/P-Tap) do this, in this order and reverse it when you change battery or turn everything off. Attach power source to device, doesn’t matter if it’s camera or monitor first. Turn on camera, turn on monitor or vice versa. Only then is is ok to plug in your HDMI or SDI cable. Having one of those cables plugged in when you turn your devices on is a quick way to fry your HDMI or SDI port on your monitor, camera, or both. Be safer and also use a regulated D/P-Tap cable at the voltage your device requires. This will aid in a better signal to noise ratio in your footage AND possibly help keep your devices safe if you plug something in wrong or turn it on in the wrong order.Read full review

Most of my Atomos recorders are 7”. I got this 5” for my gimbal and it was on sale . It was the sale more than anything that got me to purchase this item because I was in dire need of a recorder. It’s a good quality one and the image is very easy to see to get focus . I do not like the onscreen menu system as of yet . Maybe because I’m used to the old Atomos menu. Also I like the 7” screen size better for my old eyes . It’s a good product though just some personal likes and dislikes nothing bad about the Ninja V .

Captures in popular codecs. Good balance in size versus weight. Nice features like focus detection. A bit power hungry if running on battery alone.

This is a great video recorder. I've only been testing it at home, but plan to record some music concerts soon. There are a lot of settings and menus to get familiarized with. YouTube is helping me out a lot. Audio wasn't getting recorded from HDMI, but the default setting was from the analog input (1/8" jack)...so the setting needs to be made to choose HDMI...lots to learn. There is a manual available from ATOMOS and registration was easy (I think this may be warrantied!?)
