The 18.1-MP high-sensitivity sensor is complemented by a large, powerful Leica zoom lens that is capable of 20x optical zoom. The Panasonic LUMIX ZS30 is capable of producing photos that range from super telephoto to ultra-wide angle. It features extensive auto-focus and exposure controls as well as high-resolution capture capabilities and 14 built-in creative effects. The multiple scene selection feature automatically chooses the appropriate ISO and shutter speed for the current environment. This makes it easy for even a beginner photographer to take beautiful point-and-shoot photos in high-speed or low-light conditions. The Venus Engine image processor increases performance speed and ensures accurate image color. With a maximum aperture of f/3.3 at the wide-angle end, the LUMIX DMC-ZS30 takes great low-light action photos. When shooting close-up photos with the telephoto lens, the Hybrid Optical Image Stabilization compensates for hand shaking and produces extremely sharp images and videos. An auto level gauge helps to ensure that photos are centered and balanced.The Panasonic LUMIX ZS30 digital camera records 1080p videos with stereo sound. It easily switches from photo to video mode with a simple touch of a button and allows users to take still photos while recording without disrupting the video in the process. For added versatility, the Panasonic LUMIX allows for both slow-motion and high-speed recording mode, and it has the ability to zoom in and out while recording. The ability to record in MP4 format means that users will be able to easily edit their videos and quickly upload them online. At the rear, you’ll find a 3-inch dual function viewfinder and touch-control preview screen. The control buttons sit on the right side of the camera for enhanced accessibility. The Panasonic ZS30 is compatible with the NFC feature available on most smartphones. The feature allows you to place the camera on a tripod and release the shutter remotely from your phone for extremely sharp close-up images.Measuring 4.26 inches by 1.09 inches by 2.32 inches and weighing only 0.44 pounds, this compact camera is perfect for photographers who like to take photos on the go. It's small enough to keep in a purse or pocket of a jacket. The LUMIX features a Li-ion battery that will allow you to take about 300 photos or record about 45 minutes of video at full charge. The memory can be upgraded by adding a card with up to 64GB of capacity.The HDMI interface lets you plug the camera into any type of device with a USB portal and instantly play your media on a supported display.     Very good value for a compact camera.

    Nice compact camera with all the features needed if you want more creative control. Nice video... with slow motion at 120 fps and 240 fps. It was listed as "like new" which is accurate to say the least. The 20X zoom is excellent. A very nice purchase.

    great camera, if you don't mind figuring out the Japanese menus

    First off, the DMCTZ40 is evidently a gray-market item in this country, though it seems to be sold with initials (DMCTZ40ee) in countries like Australia. As a result, the language in the camera is entirely Japanese, *and it cannot be changed.* This is true even when you go into the initial settings (a complicated series of pushing buttons according to directions in the service manual), and a loud warning noise sounds just to emphasize the point when you try. So, if you get this camera, be prepared to print out a copy of the manual for the DMCZS30, which is the same camera, to memorize the menus. That being said, for someone with a bit of knowledge of other digital cameras and the DMCZS30 manual, this is a pretty spiffy little machine. I am an enthusiastic amateur, and this is perhaps ...

    Quality construction, fantastic lens and many features.

    Although this one was used, it was like new. Don't know if I will use the wireless or gps features, but the other controls and features are top notch. This mighty mini is the best compact camera I have handled yet. The zoom range is amazing. It is much better than the zs35 although it lacks a rotating view screen. Touch screen controls are intuitive and make the camera easy to use.

    Great little camera.

    I bought this camera based on prior experience with Lumix it's Leica lens. I expected to see some signs of prior use. It arrived looking and operating AS NEW. My primary camera is a Canon EOS 70D with a Canon 18mm-200 mm zoom lense. Love it, but it weighs a ton. I wanted a light weight camera with lots of functionality. The Lumix is a perfect solution.

    I have had other cameras from this series by Panasonic. The newer cameras scrimp on featurea to make a price point. Not this one! This may be their best compact/full featured camera out of the group. A great piece of equipment that is easy to use
