A wonderfully simple guide to healthy living, this book is simple to digest, but packed with life-saving information! I found it to be liberating and easy to live with...not a bunch of recipes with ingredients I never use, but whole foods and do-it-yourself activities that leave you with no excuses for success! I highly recommend this book and its author, who also writes for Oxygen magazine. A great find!!!Tosca Reno has helped to change my life!!
I love this book! This book, in conjunction with another book I recently read, has provided me with the "truth" I have searched for, for a very long time. All these years, I have shopped the grocery aisles thinking I was eating foods that were "healthy" for me cause that's what the label said. Now that I am eating clean, I am seeing a new body and the change is happening so quickly. I will not go back to packaged processed foods that have so many sugars in them, disguised under various names. I highly recommend this book the the person who strives for a great looking body and a healthy lifestyle!! Tosca Reno is a very admiral person and wrote this book very easy to read and understand! Well to start, this is the second time I have purchased this book. The first time was from a book store and it was for myself. This time I bought it from Ebay (because it was cheaper) for my mother. I wanted to try this diet after doing a raw food diet that was just way to strict and time consuming. This book is easy to understand and the recipes consist of good foods that I enjoy and that are simple enough for anyone to make with out taking all day. It is also a food plan that I can live with so I know I can maintain a healthy weight forever not just a few months. I wanted my mom to get the great results that I did so I purchased the same book for her. I recommend this book to anyone at any fitness level!
I love this book. A few years back I lost 60 lbs. Basically, it was the Eat Clean Diet (or lifestyle), only I didn't know it back then. I turn to the book when I need motivation and reinforcement. This book can change your life in a positive way if you are willing to follow her plan. I would say that the only down fall of Tosca Reno's eat-clean diet is that it is very extreme. I have to admit that when I lost the weight, I wasn't as strict as her (I drank coffee with Coffee Mate...) It can be overwhelming if you go into it thinking you need to be as perfect as she is. Basically, lay off the sugar and white flour.
What I love about this book is, those of us who live a healthy life style with exercise and good, even great eating habits, can always learn more. For example the amount of food, and how often we eat are essential to having a fully functioning metabolism so we can feel as good as we eat. Results are immediate and without that, it's hard to do anything. This book is basically all the things we know but put to us in a new and fresh way with beautiful pictures, easy reading and great recipes. I have given this book to everyone I love.
Wow, what can I say! This book if full of information I already knew but the way it was relayed was so motivating and inspiring. I have thrown out all the "stuff" in my home that I once considered to be food. I have lost 15 pounds in about 3 weeks and I love the way I feel. I train in a gym 6 days a week and rave about the wonderful natural concept of "Eating Clean." Many others have purchased this book because they want to know more about this idea I talk about. If you believe in it, everyone else will too and it will be life changing. I will never go back to my old ways. I love the changes that are finally taking place. I love that I finally have a healthy relationship with food. Many may think "deprivation" when you mention the way you eat but once they allow themselves to succeed and try it for themselves, "bounty" will be their new way of thinking!Read full review
In 2002 I had gastric bypass surgery. Since then eating has been a challenge and a journey. I have begun strength training, a vitamin program, and eliminated most sugar and meat from my diet. I have read many books, but at times I am a little slow on the uptake, and when it comes to nutrition I wanted a concise summary of what I needed to do. as a reader of Oxygen magazine, I also work at a gym, I saw an ad for Tosca's book and decided it would be worth the investment. It is exactly what the doctor ordered. A clear and concise summarization of all the ingredients necessary to achieve optimal health. I recommend it to everyone.
The book essentially is quite informative, but also regurgitates a lot of known dietary facts. I don't think there are many things that one will find 'shocking' as far as revelations go - Don't eat white sugar, don't drink soda pop or alcohol, pre-package foods are bad, etc.... That being said, the book does offer some wonderful tips for breaking meals up properly throughout the day as well as really simplifies nutrition in simple, easy to read language, but to actually LIVE this diet... Wow, that requires some special kind of willpower. Thinking of spending the rest of my life adhering to this diet makes me want to cry... Best part of this book - The useful hint to have sex, and have it often (it boosts the metabolism!). My boyfriend will love that!
bought the eat clean diet book by Tosca Reno and was amazed by the excellent condition the book was in and the fast delvery in a matter of days it was sent to me. I love the book with all the helpful hints and encouraging guides to making a person the best they can be. gluten free meal plan list, colorful pictues. She breaks down superfoodsand has alot of recipes with pictures. I would highly reccommend this book.
I have combined this book with exercise and I love it! It is easy to understand and keeping things "clean" actually keeps meals and eating simple. I have been losing weight all along. There are several other benefits: saving money, healthy, less tired, less hungry all the time and more energy for working out. My aerobics instructor knew I was trying to eat well and have a better handle on my weight and she told me I had to get this book! She was right. Also, she told me about the magazine Oxygen.
