Solid functional package with useful features
This phone package works well in an apartment which is where I use it. The buttons are laid out clearly and with enough spacing so you do not accidentally press the wrong one. The speaker phone is clear in both directions. I have not had any interference problems. The answering feature resists hang-ups well - that is, it does not treat calls that hang up before leaving a message as a message. The cordless unit also provides adequate performance, though I did find that when I plugged in my headset, the sound was a bit tinnier than when I plugged the same headset into my cell phone. The only problem I had was the Link Handset function, which somehow links the base unit with the cordless unit. Not sure what it is but I could not get it to work. This is old technology so there are more bells and whistles out there, but this has many features it replaces identical one I had and liked.

GE phones are the most reliable & durable!
I've had a GE cordless phone for 5 years, used an expensive $129.00 phone & sold my GE to a friend! BIG MISTAKE! Immediately looked for another GE phone because they receive calls as well as make calls from my floor (3rd) to basement! Even on the elevator! The reception is clear and the handset holds its charge so it doesn't go dead in the middle of a conversation when you've been on hold for 20 minutes or more!It sits by my bed as I have medical emergencies w/my heart. The corded phone is perfect to save on my disability budget w/the answering maching instead of voice messaging and is easy for me to dial. I can operate it so easy also. It's a perfect set-up and DEPENDABLE. It's my lifeline at home. I reccommend that anyone in need of a phone, make it a GE as I will never use any other ...
