Without the usb fob, only good for scrap
Taking one star, because I did not verify one thing online. It was a bad assumption on my part. But taking the second star because, really, because these shouldn't be resold as anything but scrap. Microsoft ties the keyboard to the usb fob at the time of manufacture. And there is absolutely NO WAY to buy a fob if it's lost. None. These boards are useless unless I worked at Ikea and was mocking up an office display.Taking one star, because I did not verify one thing online. It was a bad assumption on my part. Item's operational issues go beyond the missing dongle. Good for parts only.
The product was delivered as described. I can use it for spare parts. My regret is that the dongle I possess, designed for exactly this make and model of keyboard by Microsoft, does not work with the keyboard. When I put in batteries, the unit turns on briefly, then shuts off and does not work.

The Keyboard will NOT work with other dongles
Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard was paired to its dongle at the factory, permanently and exclusively, for security reason. The keyboard will NOT work with any other dongles. The circuit board inside keyboard may be replaced to match the dongle but anything short of that hack, it will NOT work unless you obtain the original dongle of the keyboard.
