Starts bad & ends very-very good
The Postman (Kevin Costner) seems to have been ignored in the theaters and few comments were heard. It turned out to be a fairly nice story set in a troubling time. You really wonder about some of these movies - a few years could have made this a blockbuster success. The acting overall was fine as was the music. The costumes really needed a 2nd opinion to achieve anything past mediocre - but everyone's makeup was good! It's worth buying but you might be slightly disappointed until you're about 1/2 way through it and then the VHS movie begins to hit you. Note that this NTSC VHS movie was issued in 1998. Parents should watch this before deciding if their school age children can. you think your mail is late...
This is a home entertainment movie. Having worked in a Movie house , The Postman as well as Water World and Dances with Wolves is too long for it to do well or even be shown in a Movie house ..would work for a Drive in but there are very few of those left Nowadays.. Costner has 3 maybe 4 family members in this one..in supporting roles...I like the movie ..my wife watches it 2 or 3 times a month.This is a home entertainment movie. I believe there must have been some kind of political "BULARKY" going on with Kevin Costner or one of his affiliates, because THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE, from beginning to end. Captivating, and will acted by all the crew, the Postman was and is as good as Titanic, or ANY other great epic Classic. I feel the same way about "WATERWORLD". I would LOVE to know the REAL STORY/TRUTH of WHAT or WHO WAS BEHIND all of the CRITIC's negitive BACKWARDS reviews!!!!! The Postman
This is a classic Kevin Costner movie. I have looked to purchase this movie for a while because to me this really could happen to the U.S. It's not that much different from popular movies playing now. It's a Great movie to play because it can install hope and insight into what may or could happen if things don't change soon.
