The Tenth Division is unique. It was the first Irish division raised and sent to the Front by Ireland: in fact, it was the first Division of Irishmen that ever existed in the British Army. In the Tenth Division, Unionist and Nationalist, Catholic and Protestant, lived, fought and died side by side like brothers. Made up entirely of men who had no military experience, the Tenth Division was to take part in some of the bloodiest episodes of the World War I at Suvla Bay and Anzac Cove.
