The Mighty Mite has decent suction, but not quite the equal of the Royal canister it replaced in our home. The Eureka is lightweight and has a longer hose and power cord than most, which permits vacuuming a large area without the need to move the power plug to another outlet. Build quality seems good, and the machine tracks well when tugged along behind its user. Noise level is a bit quieter than most. Worth $80 but not more IMHO.

Where was this mitey mite vacuum manufactured,? I ask this seriously as I have owned 20 mitey nite and sanitare small canisters for my cleaning business over the last maybe 20 years. Never ever have any of them been made as cheaply as this vacuum. The plastic is not the same, the hose is stiff and cheap, the weight of the unit is light and a cheap cheap plastic. Pure garbage.

This vacuum is exactly what I was looking for to meet my needs. I needed something to clean large areas of hardwood flooring since I have two large dogs and vacuum hair up daily. This has great power, and while the cord could be a little longer, I only have to move it once. The cons are the cord length, that the cord doesn't retract, and the hose is rather flimsy. However, for the price, I think it is a good buy and can overlook these issues. I would not recommend this vacuum for carpeting. I'm really not sure why someone would buy this style for carpeting, but have read some negative reviews about it's use on carpeting. If you need some power to keep hard floors clean, this is recommended.
I have wood floors and this is cleans so much better than sweeping/dust mopping. Good suction. Easy to use on the stairs, corners, air vents, upholstered furniture. When I empty & organize my "junk" drawer, I vacuum it. Also, I use it to clean my car's interior. I gave it only 4 stars because the quality of plastic this is now made of is cheap. This is my third Mighty Mite and my old ones were made of a sturdier plastic that withstood heavy use, even falling down stairs by accident. But this new plastic will crack easily and I'm not reckless with my vacuums either.

There is a lot to like with this little machine. The name is predictive of it's performance. It IS a mighty mite. We bought it to replace a similar looking machine that was 10 years old. The MM is powerful. It almost stuck to the carpet when my wife used it for the first time. It did a good job. The long chord is a little bulky when unwound from the bottom of the machine, but it's length is greatly appreciated. Our old one was 5 or more feet shorter and had to be repeatedly plugged into different outlets. That's the good news. Unfortunately the attachments are very thin and fragile. I can't possibly see how they will last as long as the previous machine. The circular brush attachment is paired with a flat surface tool that is just plane flimsy and weak. We had fortunately saved the brush attachment from the old machine and it fit on the MM wand. The bags are easily changed and inexpensive. We bought a supply along with the vacuum and hope they last a long time. The noise is definitely moderately loud, but it's pretty powerful with a 12 amp motor, so it comes with the power, I suppose. Not overwhelming, but hard to talk over. Considering the price I think it's a bargain. I hope there are aftermarket replacement hoses and wands because I predict the vacuum body will far outlive these items. I give it a 4 star rating. It's about what I expected for the price. Better fragile accessories than the motor and body itself.Read full review
