I was looking for an inexpensive small amp to use with a CBG, battery powered, portable, and this fit the bill. I don't think it's 10 watts and didn't expect it to be, its lowed enough, looks cool, and has a belt clip. I wish I could have picked the color but I like the color I got. You can also power it with a 9v 500ma adapter, but it doesn't come with one. I'd buy another one

I bought this amp to practice with at home or on the go. I mainly bought it because I liked the "retro" look. It does indeed look cool, but my main issue is that it produces A LOT of feedback (the AC adapter makes this worse) and when you hit about the 9th fret on the G string, it distorts even if overdrive is turned all the way down and volume is low. I play jazz guitar, so I don't use gain or overdrive...I like a warm clean sound and I can't get that with this amp. I give it 3 stars because it does look nice and makes my guitar louder I guess. And just to be clear, I tried it on multiple guitars...the amp is most def the problem.

It's a battery operated amplifier for less than the cost of a few sets of strings. The first thing I noticed when I played on this.... is how bad it sounded with the gain up. The distortion sounds terrible on this little guy, and should really never be used. If you've got a pedal or effects processor, with the gain turned ALL the way down, this passes as a decent little practice amp if you've got no other option. It's probably a little overrated, but it's the cheapest guitar amp with a speaker you can buy, and for the price it is a good buy.

Ok,so I bought this because I was building some electric instruments and I needed an inexpensive method of testing them and playing them. I'm not a musician, just a builder, so I couldn't see investing in a 'real' amp. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the HomeyTone, it makes a pretty big noise for such a small amp. It's certainly enough for a portable pocket amp (and yes it does have a beltclip on it). I appreciated the tone control as most of my instruments don't have one. If I had to point out the cons- I'd say the amp has a lot of feedback hum. This may be because of my setup, using economy cables, un shielded wires on my pickup, that kind of thing, I don't know. But when you crank up the volume you get plenty of background noise. For the price, and it's intended use, I can't complain. ALSO, keep your eyes peeled for much cheaper AC adapters that work with this...I found a 9v DC to AC adapter (with the - center/ + outside) for $1,works perfectly. MAKE SURE THE POLARITY IS CORRECT!Read full review
I have been building electric guitars for a long time & it's always good to test pickups / knobs, etc. out before you bolt up everything. Handy keeping this on the bench: small, not too loud and it accepts most 9v adapters. It's nice that they include their own brand of battery ~ the powered on light in the switch is smart. I gifted my old one out to a friend and missed it ..... so I got a new one. Plus ... you can't beat the cute factor.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the positive reviews and all, but it is not a genuine Danelectro product. Now, to be fair, it does come with an actual Danelectro battery installed in it; however, the rest of the N-10 is of a "second generation nature," in my opinion. It just so happens that I am the proud owner of two original (one yellow, never used; one aqua, slightly used) HONEYTONE Mini Amps—complete with their original boxes and owners manuals. The unique manual itself is of a booklet form printed on durable stock with the front and rear covers printed in the traditional Danelectro colors while the pages themselves were deliberately arranged with a convincing "nostalgic look" in mind. The Danelectro logo is plastered all over the box so that you know your getting the real thing—way back 1988. The most important feature that distinguishes the original N-10 from newer offering is the famous Danelectro logo —in raised letters—centered in front of the speaker grill running vertically and supported by, what I call, the "spike." In all other respects the newer model is exactly the same and, of course, comes with that same great vintage sound. An added bonus is the tiny, but official, Danelectro instrument catalog which also was thoughtfully packed in. Well, there you have it. The reviews are in. The mighty HONEYTONE Mini Amp (old or new) comes highly recommend with all its mid-century styling, color scheme and; of course, lots of "chrome" to polish up. And if you're ever fortunate to stumble upon an original one then, by all means, grab it. James AllanRead full review

The Danelectro N-10 Honeytone Guitar Amp Looks impressive, and plays impressive. I bought mine for about $20 here on ebay, and I'm amazed by the power of this amp relative to it's size. I've had a few 10 - 20 watt amps since I started playing guitar, and this one could really keep up with the rest. If you get it new, it comes with a piece of paper with the different preset capabilities of the amp. It can get pretty f-cking loud on it's on, don't get me wrong, but if you have speakers connected to a regular headphone jack, you can make it louder. And give it a different tone. Distortion is possible by turning the tone all the way up and mixing it up. I suck at small talk :( lol. Anyway, It's a great amp, you can find it really cheap on ebay. Totally worth the money. It's good for playing at home, outside, or just about anywhere. It takes a 9 volt battery, but also has a charger port, not sure what kind of charger though.Read full review
When I bought the amp, I had already tested in a store here in Rio de Janeiro. He had a very good sound, even if small. Here at home, it is also quieter than the inside of a store because my ear gets confused with so many instruments being tested at the same time, I discovered that I have a box that puts sound throughout the house. And the distortion has a touch of cool vintage. And until I see it so small. I have no negative comments about the product. It is a Danelectro. But I would like the grid that protects the speaker was aluminum or metal. The chrome these pieces is very exposed and subject to scratch very easily. Another thing that could be added to the product packaging is the 9v adapter. But despite all the comments and observations, to me is a great product and a great acquisition.Read full review
For the size it is a great little practice amp it great if you are on the go plus the retro look is way cool. I like the fact that it has a belt clip and that you can use a 9 volt battery when you are away from a power source

A fun novelty amp. You can't really get a clean tone out of it as the speaker is overpowered with little gain. That said, the overdriven tone isn't bad, and it's a fun amp for a small blues jam session. It's got a cool design and also works fine as a desk accessory. This is a good buy as long as you know that you're getting.
